Blanche L. "Bee" McFall

Blanche “Bee” Laura McFall, age 88, of New Castle, DE, was welcomed into heaven on Sunday, October 11, 2015. She was at home surrounded by her loving family. Bee was born in Quincy, MA on December 15, 1926, where she grew up with her mother and brother. An accomplished artist, at 16 she moved to California where she was employed by the Walt Disney Studios as a cartoonist drawing for the movie Three Caballeros. While visiting San Antonio, TX in 1945 she met the love of her life, Jim, at a USO dance. After just three months of dating they were married at Kelley Air Force Base on July 14, 1945. They would share 61 wonderful years together. They relocated to Wilmington, DE where they ran a little store called The Hodge Podge. Bee was a secretary for many years at Red Lion Methodist Church. In 1967, she founded SOS Vietnam, an organization that sent care packages to the soldiers overseas. She was a founding director of RLEA where she continued as church secretary retiring in 1983. One of the highlights of her life was traveling to Jerusalem where she was baptized. Bee was known for her eloquent letters and civic activism. She was a devoted mother and grandmother – always hosting dinners and parties for her family and friends. Bee loved family vacations to the beach, VA, and FL. Through her faith and devotion to the Lord, she greatly influenced her family and friends. Bee is survived by 3 daughters: Jaqueline Pusey and husband Glenn, Diane Ewing and husband Ed, and Laurie Janocha and boyfriend John Brown; son, Jim McFall, Jr.; 9 grandchildren: Christine, Michelle, Glenna, Kevin, Kim, Valerie, Christy, Guy, and Pam; and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James McFall, Sr.; daughter, Karen McFall Lindell; and brother, E. George Wetmore. A visitation will be held Friday, October 16, 2015 from 9-10 AM at Bible Fellowship Church, 808 Old Baltimore Pike, Newark, DE 19702 followed by a service in celebration of Bee’s life at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent in memory of Blanche McFall to Special Olympics Delaware www.sode.org.
