Michael J Lisowski

Michael J. Lisowski, 59, formerly from Delaware, passed away Sunday April 2, 2017 at home in Ft. Pierce, FL where he has resided since 2008 with his wife and his feline buddy, Mickey Mouse. He is survived by his wife, Dawn (Tartaglio); daughters: Jennifer Tobiansky (Joshua), Stephanie Daniels (Geoff), and Nicole Lisowski; mother, Betty Unger; sister, Terri Leavey; seven grandchildren; a nephew; and a large extended family. Mike is predeceased by his grandparents, Ziggy and Gertrude Lisowski, in-laws, Anthony and June Tartaglio; and son-in-law, Alex Rodriguez. Mike attended John Dickinson High School where he met Dawn then married in 1976 and was blessed with three daughters. He served in the Army National Guard for six years. Mike was always good with his hands and after his time in the service, he used his abilities to become a skillful carpenter. He worked many years as an exhibit builder for Display Arts/Avalon Exhibits Local Union 359. Mike was active in his local chapters of the Loyal Order of Moose in both DE and FL. After holding the position of Governor of the Fort Pierce, FL Moose Lodge 248, he received the Governor’s Award of Excellence 2012-2013. He became a life member of Lodge 248 but transferred his membership to Smyrna Clayton Moose Lodge 2046. Mike was a loyal Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan, liked spending time in Disney, and loved singing karaoke to Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” and numerous Jimmy Buffett songs. He enjoyed many years of the times spent with family and friends camping and cruising, but his passion was for spending time on the green. Mike was an avid golf player and accomplished his most prized awards in 2016 when he hit TWO hole-in-ones. He was given the name “THE HAMMER” by his buddies in the community where he had served two years as President of the Men’s Golf League. He currently kept all the league information up to date each week and volunteered his time as golf ranger for the resident golf course. He enjoyed being the “GO TO” guy for any help or advise he could give when it came to issues involving computers, golf carts, etc. Mike always looked forward to his annual golf trips with his buddies both in DE and FL. Mike will always be remembered by his contagious laugh, sense of humor, and helpfulness to others. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends in both DE and FL. His greatest joy came from his grandchildren and he was proud to be their Pop Pop. His legacy lives on through each of them and they will always know just how much he loved them. A visitation will be held Monday, April 24, 2017 from 5:30-7 PM at Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702 followed by a memorial service in celebration of Mike’s life at 7 PM.
