Barbara S. Dunn, age 70, of Newark, DE, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. Mom, you are no longer in pain and your soul has been released from this world to roam free with Uncle Steven. My mom was a special kind of woman. A special soul that we were all blessed to have in our lives. She raised 4 of us amazing children and we will honor your soul and your life by showing the world who we have become. Showing this world what you have taught us and how you have raised us to be. Each of us has been instilled with our own special flavor of creativity and uniqueness. Discipline and drive. You were always that mom that everyone had wished they had. You spent time with us and made it out to all of our special activities. Dance recitals, sporting events, martial art shows. Everything! You made it a point to make sure that we were loved and cared for. You created a family that expanded into families. My mom was an amazing sister that was always there for her siblings and her parents. That special person that each of them would call on, often the linchpin that would be called by multiple ends of a fight. That special voice that could calm the storms. My mom was a great wife. She was part of a team that would start this amazing family together. She showed him love and took care of him. Made sure that his health concerns were dealt with. They were each other's support and would take on this journey together. Just them against the world. My mom was a unique individual. A person full of wild and crazy stories. Some exaggerations when she retold events that nobody would even understand how she got there. A special love for Godzilla movies and horror and suspense movies. A love for music that turned into a weird addiction once her granddaughter taught her how to use YouTube. And a sweet tooth for snacks that were always stocked up or stashed somewhere around her. She is a one-of-a-kind woman that will be missed but never forgotten. Mom is now in a place where she can relax and enjoy the view. Watching down over all of us and laughing and making jokes with my uncle Steven. A Committal Service will be held Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 1 PM at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
