In Loving Memory of Bolanle Oluwatoyin Orefuwa With profound sorrow yet gratitude to God for a life well lived, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, wife, grandmother, sister, and servant of God, Bolanle Oluwatoyin Orefuwa. Bolanle was a devoted wife to her loving husband, Olukayode Orefuwa, with whom she shared 32 wonderful years of marriage. She was a caring and proud mother to her two children, Gbenga Orefuwa and Oluseyi Orefuwa, and a doting grandmother to Damilola Anjorin and Tomilola Anjorin, who brought her immense joy and pride. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Anwo Sadiq and Mrs. Moradeun Sadiq (née Sonibare). Bolanle lived a life of service, compassion, and faith. She was a devoted Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) who selflessly cared for the chronically ill, offering comfort, patience, and love to those in need. Her gentle spirit and dedication to helping others were evident in every aspect of her life. A woman of deep faith, Bolanle loved the Lord and faithfully attended Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries in Nigeria. Her faith guided her daily life and was the foundation of her strength, kindness, and perseverance. Bolanle had a strong passion for education and personal growth. She attended Saint Matthew’s Primary School, Ojowo, Ijebu Igbo (1965–1971), Nubi Coaching Class (1971–1972), and Ijebu-Igbo Girls Grammar School (1972–1977). She obtained her Grade II Teacher’s Certificate from Teachers’ Training College, Oru, Ijebu (1977–1979) and later furthered her education at the Federal College of Education, Osiele, Abeokuta (1985–1988). She began her teaching career at Saint Mary’s Catholic Primary School, Ogbere, Ijebu, where she served from 1979 to 1985, while also working as a businesswoman. In her commitment to excellence, she returned to school to upgrade her qualifications at the Federal College of Education, Osiele, Abeokuta (1985–1988). She later resumed teaching in 1991 at Agidi Comprehensive Secondary School, Alapere, Ketu, where she served faithfully until her resignation in 2002. Outside of her professional life, Bolanle was deeply family-oriented. She treasured spending quality time with her loved ones, enjoyed watching WWE and CNN, and found great joy in cooking, delighting family and friends with her meals. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. She is survived by her loving siblings: Mrs. Adesile Talabi, Mr. Adeniyi Sadiq, Mr. Adedotun Sadiq, Mrs. Motunrayo Ewulomi, Mr. Adewale Adelagunja, and Mrs. Oluwaseyi Ojobaro, as well as numerous relatives, friends, colleagues, and church members whose lives she touched. Bolanle Oluwatoyin Orefuwa will be remembered for her unwavering faith, compassionate heart, dedication to service, and deep love for her family. Though she has departed this world, her legacy of love, faith, and selflessness will live on forever in our hearts. 2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” May her soul rest in perfect peace. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, December 18, 2025 from 10:45 AM - 11 AM at Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702. A celebration of Bolanle's life will follow at 11AM. Burial will take place immediately after the service at All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, DE 19808.
