Christopher St. Michael Harriott

“Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.” - Proverbs 22:6 Christopher St. Michael Harriott, age 18, was called Home to the Lord on February 20, 2016. The son of Paula Alcock and Seymour Harriott both of Kingston, Jamaica, he was born on May 3, 1997. Born prematurely, two months early, Christopher came into this world fighting. He was a very special child. Mature beyond his years, he was always willing to help his mother and his younger brother Jaden with anything that he possibly could. Like many siblings, Christopher and his little brother argued a lot, but they had an unbreakable bond. In 2009, Christopher was diagnosed with Petit-Mal Epilepsy, an illness that caused seizures. In the event of a seizure, Jaden would be by his side to aid him back to good health. Christopher attended the public school system in Newark and graduated from the Delaware Academy of Public Safety and Securities (DAPSS) on June 6, 2015. In high school he was a member of the ROTC program. Christopher’s passion was to be in the army to serve his country, as well as to teach English in China. Christopher joined the Wendy’s Corporation in November 2015 and worked there while attending Delaware Technical Community College. Even though his time here on earth was short, he lived a fulfilling life. He was a great friend, cousin, nephew, son, and brother to us all. He was a person who spoke very few words, but with great meaning. No matter what challenges he faced in life, he remained the same person, his strong character was steadfast. Christopher will never be forgotten. He touched the lives of everyone he knew. Every memory will bring joy, love, and laughter to us all. He will be forever in our hearts, and forever missed dearly. Left to cherish Christopher’s memory: He is survived by his loving and faithful mother, Paula Alcock; his father, Seymour Harriott; his younger brother, Jaden Alcock; his elder brother, Kemar Harriott; his stepdad, Mark Morgan; his Aunt Lesrine Ward; his uncles, George Alcock and Michael Ward; Dwayne Summers, and numerous cousins and friends. Christopher was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Myrtle Winton and his grandfather, Alvin Alcock. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 9:30 to 11 AM followed by a service in celebration of Christopher’s life at 11 AM at the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd, Newark, DE 19702.
