Ethan Miele Zhang

Ethan Miele Zhang was born on June 11, 2022, in Philadelphia to parents, Patricia Miele and Yiwei Zhang as their only child. Ethan was deeply loved by his grandparents: “Nna” Weixia Dong, “Ganna” Debbie Young-Miele, “Yeye” Baogong Zhang and “Pop-pop” Robert Miele. He was also blessed to have his uncle, Alex Miele, and great-aunts, Angela Miele and Patricia Lang. In his short 848 days of life, baby Ethan developed into a caring, inquisitive, adventurous boy who brought smiles and laughter to everyone he met with his adorable sense of humor. Ethan was notorious for his voracious appetite and was especially fond of fruits of all kinds. His favorite activities include reading books, playing with water, riding his bike wagon, playing with friends at playgrounds, doing arts and crafts, singing songs, and giving “huggy-huggies” generously to all his favorite people. Ethan loved doing “gym” workouts with his Dada and perfected Ethanflips, Dadlifts and trust falls. He was always eager to show his Mama that he was her little helper and loved to make everything from PB & J sandwiches to apple pie with her. He enjoyed riding on Ganna’s scooter, eating tomatoes from Pop-Pop’s garden, and playing with the family cat, Noodles. At the end of each day, Ethan loved nothing more than to read books in bed with his parents while snuggled in his favorite blanket like a burrito. His whole life, Ethan was full of boundless energy, creativity with art projects, curiosity for all tools, and he was most known for his endearingly affectionate personality. Ethan exhibited significant aptitude for languages, being able to communicate in Chinese and English and sing songs and count in five languages. Above all else, Ethan’s greatest achievement was making his parents a better mom and dad each and every day. On the evening of October 8, 2024, at his home in Bear, Delaware, Ethan read two of his favorite stories, kissed his Mommy and Dada, and went to sleep. He passed away peacefully in his sleep wrapped in his favorite blanket with his beloved plushies. The sudden passing of Ethan has heartbroken his family at home and abroad, his friends at Paxson KinderCare, neighbors in the community, and every soul he touched. The family sincerely requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Ethan Fund at the Delaware Children’s Museum, which was Ethan’s favorite place to go nearly every weekend.
