John Francis McGarry, known and loved by all as “John-John,” of Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 31st, 2026, at the age of 42. Born on April 28, 1983, John-John was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and friend whose heart was as big as his presence. He was the kind of person who made life lighter-quick with a joke, full of warmth, and always ready to bring a smile when it was needed most. He was the cherished son of Patricia Marie Scardecchio McGarry Warner and John Francis McGarry, and the stepson of Raymond Warner. John-John had a love for music that could be felt in every note, often found listening to Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, letting their songs carry him. He was a true movie connoisseur, someone who seemed to have seen every film ever made, always ready to share a story or quote a line at just the right moment. He was smart with a quiet intelligence in all the ways that mattered-street smart with a head full of random facts and knowledge, the kind that some may overlook but that made him uniquely wise. Always ready with an answer or a story. He knew exactly what you needed to hear. John-John was a jokester at heart, often picking on his mom and sisters. Carrying on a playful and familiar trait he inherited from his dad. John-John was his Dad's best bud and his Mom's little boy still—roles he carried in his heart always. There wasn’t a single picture where he wasn’t making a face—tongue out, eyes rolled—bringing laughter into every frame. His Jim Carrey and Donald Duck impressions were unmatched, and his quick wit had a way of making even the heaviest moments feel a little lighter. He was an old soul—soft and calm, just happy to chill. And no matter what you needed, or how far he had to go, he would find a way. “It didn’t matter what you needed or how far he had to stride, He’d find what was lost, even if he needed a ride.” After the passing of his father in March of 2003, that bond remained a guiding light in his life. He shared an especially close bond with his sister Patricia “Tricia” McGarry, the two just 10 months apart, growing up side by side and always finding their way into a little mischief. Together with his sisters Sarah, Mimi and Tricia, they shared a lifetime of memories that will forever be held close. He was our baby brother-mischievous, loving, protective, and gentle-and the bond we shared as siblings is one that will live on in us always. He is survived by his son, John Nicholas McGarry; his loving mother, Patricia Marie Scardecchio McGarry Warner; and his stepfather, Raymond Warner. He also leaves behind his three older sisters, Sarah McGarry, Margaret “Mimi” Ryan, and Patricia “Tricia” McGarry-Sanders, whom he cherished and loved deeply, along with many nieces, nephews, great niece and nephew and extended family. He was preceded in death by his loving father, John Francis McGarry. Oh John-John, we’re jamming to Zeppelin and thinking of you, In the quiet of the morning and the midnight blue.
