Kevin Patrick Murphy

Kevin Patrick Murphy, age 31, of Philadelphia Pennsylvania, passed away on November 30, 2023 after a tragic bicycle accident. Kevin was born in Wilmington, Delaware to Kelly (Regan) Murphy and Brian Murphy. He was raised in Wilmington, Delaware along with his younger brother and sister. Kevin met and married the love of his life, Arielle Irvin. Together they loved their life in Philadelphia, along with their treasured dog Brodie. Kevin enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid golfer and played as often as he could. Kevin was a New York Giants and Mets fan and also enjoyed watching the Philadelphia 76ers. Kevin and Arielle loved traveling. He was easy-going and had a zest for life and having fun. Kevin was a hard worker, and was proud of his role as a union steamfitter in facility management for the University of Pennsylvania. He was also a HVAC journeyman. Kevin’s passing leaves a huge void in the lives of all who loved him. He will be deeply missed and his memory will be forever treasured. In keeping with how he lived, Kevin blessed countless others through the Gift of Life program, bringing new life and healing to many. Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Arielle Irvin; his parents, Kelly and Brian Murphy; his brother and sister-in-law, Timothy and Vienna Murphy; his sister, Emily Murphy; his maternal grandmother, Josephine Regan; his paternal grandmother, Joan Murphy; his mother-in-law, Karen Fromm; his aunts and uncles: Bryan Regan (Peg), Lauren Regan Sabet (Bijan), Robert Murphy (Christine), Peter Murphy (Jocelyn), and Suzanne Machado (John); and a host of cousins and friends. Kevin was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Edward Murphy, and his maternal grandfather, Dennis Regan, and his father-in-law, Patrick Irvin. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, December 28 from 2 to 3:30 PM at the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702. A time of family sharing will be held at the funeral home at 3:30 PM. Burial will be private.
