Mark William Killian

Mark William Killian, 76, of New Castle, DE, born on February 9, 1949, in Berwick, PA, went home to be with the Lord on March 10, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and service. He was the son of the late Harry and Dorothy Killian, and was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Headley Kenneth Killian. Mark was a devoted husband to his wife, Nancy Killian, with whom he shared 51 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and a strong foundation of faith. Mark was also a proud father to three children: Melissa Taylor (Adam), Melinda Killian, and Kenny Killian (Aimee). He cherished his role as a father and leaves behind a lasting influence on his children. His legacy continues through his three grandchildren: Sophia Taylor, Anya Taylor, and Cameron Killian, who brought him great joy. Throughout his life, Mark served the Lord faithfully, leading his children to Christ. He was deeply involved in his local churches, where he taught Bible classes for all ages, sharing his knowledge and passion for the Word of God with others. His love for teaching and his unwavering faith left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him. Mark had a passion for sports and was a standout athlete in his youth. He excelled in basketball and football, earning All-State honors in 1967 and All-American Honorable Mention, which led to a scholarship to Penn State. He loved to hunt and enjoyed spending time outdoors in his younger years. He remained a devoted fan of the Nittany Lions and the Dallas Cowboys. Mark’s life was also marked by his dedication and success in the real estate business. He began his career in real estate in 1977 and, in the late 1980s, transitioned to real estate appraising. Ultimately, Mark founded his own company, AmerAppraise, in the late 1990s, where he ran the business with integrity and built lasting relationships with clients and colleagues alike until his retirement in 2023. He was also known for his deep connection with family. Some of his most cherished memories were playing card games with his children, vacations and family trips to Disney World, Williamsburg and the Caribbean Islands. Mark’s love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life, and he worked tirelessly to create lasting memories for his loved ones. Mark will be remembered for his sense of humor, unwavering faith, his devotion to his family and his service to the Lord. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 1842 Otts Chapel Road, Newark, DE 19702.
