Mary Virginia Moore (1943-2026) Mary (Gena) Virginia Moore, 82, of New Castle, Delaware, passed away on March 24, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her family. Born on November 29, 1943, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Scheller Devine. Gena graduated from South Catholic High School in Scranton and moved to Delaware in 1967, where she made her home and raised her family. She was a faithful member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Bear. Gena was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family and creating a warm, welcoming home. She found enjoyment in life’s simple pleasures and was an avid viewer of her favorite soap operas, as well as a dedicated fan of the Philadelphia Phillies. She also had a deep love of music and enjoyed singing along to Neil Diamond songs. She especially loved the Christmas season, a time she embraced with joy and tradition. She delighted in the spirit of the holiday, bringing warmth to her home and creating lasting memories for her family. Gena was known for her loving personality and her unmistakable way of expressing herself. More than anything, she cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter, who brought her immense joy and were a central part of her life. She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Zelva Devine and Nora Devine; children, Alisa Muscolini (John), Tracy Konkle (Matt), Jeffrey Moore (Lindsay), Kimberly Feliciano, and Jennifer Moore (Derek); her grandchildren, Trevor Rose (Jessica), Nick and Andrew Konkle, Justin (April), Tyler, and Brenden Moore, Dawn Feliciano, and Derek, Cannon, Angelica, and Brielle Walsh; and her great-granddaughter Eleanor Zarin Rose. In addition to her parents, Gena was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Czartowski, Catherine Rondomanski, Elaine Donovan, Claire Najmulski, Elizabeth (Betty) Donovan, Lois Conway, and Margaret (Margie) Garbolino; and her brothers, Joseph, John (Jackie), Robert, and Paul Devine. Gena will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her strength, and the lasting impact she had on all who knew and loved her. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 from 9:30 to 11 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 345 Bear Christiana Rd., Bear, DE 19701.
