Nancy Marie Clark

Nancy Marie Clark, age 58, of Newark, DE passed away on December 6, 2023. She was born in Wilmington, DE to the late Dorothea and Harry Banack. Nancy will now rest peacefully with her parents. She graduated from St. Marks High School and then spent more than 30 years with Dupont as an Executive Assistant. Her most recent job before she passed was with Wilmington Housing Authority as an Executive Confidential Special Assistant. Nancy was full of love and light, and everyone that met her adored her immediately. She would always brighten up the room with not only her positive outlook on life, but more distinctly, the “Banack family humor”. Nancy loved bowling with family and friends. She also enjoyed going to the beach and spending time at the condo with her loving boyfriend, Michael Ruth. She and Michael were together for almost 10 years. The love between them was tangible and their connection could be noticed immediately. Nancy loved jamming to “Don’t Bring Me Down” by Electric Light Orchestra with her daughters. She wouldn’t go anywhere without her sunglasses and mauve lipstick. Nancy was a huge music fan, especially of ACDC, ABBA, Eagles, and The Monkees. She loved her horror movies especially Halloween. Nancy was a big Philly sports fan and loved to root for the Eagles and Phillies. She loved Grottos Grand Slam and always would say “it’s better at the beach”. Nancy loved getting her hair and makeup done by her daughters. Her passing leaves an incredible void in the lives of all those she touched. Nancy will be forever loved and deeply missed. Nancy is survived by her daughters, Rachel Clark and Alyssa Hillman; her brother, Dave Banack; her sister, Linda Rathmanner; her grandson, Carter whom she adored; her soon to arrive granddaughter, Avery; her beloved boyfriend, Michael Ruth; and many other extended family members and friends. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday December 15th, 2023, from 1-2 PM at the parish where she attended grade school, St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 901 E. Newport Pike, Wilmington, DE 19804. A Memorial Mass will follow at 2 PM. Burial will be private. Flowers may be sent in Nancy’s memory to St. Matthew’s church.
