With hearts broken open by love, we share that our beautiful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Patricia A. Shaffer, has gone home to heaven to be reunited with her beloved husband on their wedding anniversary, January 30, 2026. A love like theirs is eternal, written in the stars long before we could see it. Patricia was a radiant free spirit, a gentle hippie soul, a strong and graceful warrior, and a magical artist who painted the world with kindness. Her smile was light itself. When you looked at her, something in you softened, and you smiled without even trying. That was her gift to this world. She showed us how to love without limits, how to give without counting, and how to see beauty in the smallest moments. She prayed daily for the people she loved, holding everyone close to her heart. Love was not just something she felt, it was the air she breathed. Even in her final days, joy followed her. She was laughing, playing bingo, and happily sharing a hoagie almost the size of a baby with everyone nearby, still finding magic in simple things. She shared a beautiful, soulful love with her husband, Lisle Shaffer. They even shared the same birthday, the day after Christmas. On their wedding anniversary, her spirit returned to him. We believe heaven simply called her home to where her heart already lived. Patricia was born in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Eddystone and Wallingford, Pennsylvania. She only lived in Ridley Park for a short time. She was the daughter of Doris Walsh and Thomas Trainer. She carried her warmth, adventure, and compassion everywhere she went. She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Dorothea Trainer Smith. She leaves behind her devoted children, Patrick Shaffer and Dori Fostok; and son-in-law, Bob Fostok. Her grandchildren were her joy and her pride: Lisa Shaffer, Tiffany Shaffer, Sarah Dellcollo, Mariam Fostok, and Adam Fostok. She was also blessed with two precious great-grandsons, Jude Dellcollo, son of Sarah, and Lorenzo, son of Tiffany. They were the light in her eyes. In one final, beautiful act of love, Patricia donated her corneas, giving two people the miracle of sight. Even as she entered heaven, she left light behind. After walking through so much in life with courage and grace, she is now free, whole, and at peace, surrounded by divine love and reunited with the one she missed so dearly. A small, intimate service will be held with immediate family. A joyful celebration of her beautiful life will be held in the warmer months, with details to be shared at a later time. We promise to honor her wish to travel beyond the United States by carrying her spirit into new skies and new horizons, knowing she walks beside us always. She is not gone. She is love. She is light.
