Paul White

Paul Guilford White, 73, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on May 30, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 26, 1950, in Washington D.C., Paul spent most of his childhood in Montgomery County, Maryland. He settled in Gaithersburg with his wife for several years before relocating to Wilmington, Delaware, where he spent the next 40 years of his life. Paul is survived by his devoted wife, Cynthia Shaw White; his son, Mark White of Parsippany, New Jersey; his daughter, Mary Beth Weaber of Elkton, MD; his son-in-law, Jeremy Weaber; and his cherished granddaughters, Sally, Molly, and Katy. He is also survived by his brother, Stephen White (Cynthia), and his sister, Carolyn Fuller (Jack). Paul also had many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Guilford White; his mother, Frances White Graham; and his brother, Kenneth White. Paul attended Gaithersburg High School and earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland. He worked his entire career for DuPont and Computer Sciences Corporation as an Information Systems Specialist. Over the years, he volunteered at Skyline Swim Club, helping maintain the grounds. He also served as a Trustee at Skyline United Methodist Church and was an active volunteer for the John Dickinson High School Marching Rams, supporting the band and assisting with set design for several high school drama productions. Paul was a hard-working, caring man who cherished spending time with his family. He had a passion for music, the outdoors, and caring for his beloved dogs. In his free time, Paul enjoyed fixing things, doing yard work, and working on pipe organs. When not engrossed in a project, spending time with his wife, or walking his dogs, Paul could be found on the sidelines of field hockey, soccer, or lacrosse, cheering on his daughter and granddaughters. Despite the physical distance between them, Paul enjoyed communicating regularly with his son online. A celebration of Paul’s life will be held at 11 AM on June 21, 2024, at Skyline United Methodist Church, 3100 Skyline Drive, Wilmington, DE 19808.
