Pedro Mendez Sr.

Pedro Méndez, Sr. was called home to Our Father In Heaven on July 2, 2015 surrounded by family and friends at St. Francis Hospital Compassionate Care. Pedro (Peyo) was born on December 21, 1942 in Naguabo, Puerto Rico. He was the son of Martin Méndez and Eustacia Ramírez. He is preceded in death by his parents Martin Méndez, Eustacia Ramírez, and siblings Agapito Ojeda, Celina Ojeda, Gloria Ojeda, and Irma González. Peyo is survived by his son, Pedro Méndez, Jr., and siblings, Jose, Ojeda, Juanita Ojeda and Josefina Alverio. He is also survived by his nephews and nieces. Peyo is also survived by his great nephews and nieces. Peyo was employed with Wilmington Housing Authority for thirty-two in a half years. He was a faithful parishioner of Saint Paul’s Roman Catholic Church where he was a member of the church choir, and was active in the Cursillo Movement. He enjoyed attending the Circle of Prayer Meetings sponsored by St. Paul’s Charismatic Group. Peyo was always willing to help his church and people in need. He was loving and caring. He enjoyed life and was always a happy man as well as a genuine soul. He loved his son Pedro, Jr. -- they were best buds, and they adored each other! Pedro Méndez, Sr. fue llamado a las casa de Nuestro Padre Celestial el 2 de julio de 2015 rodeado de su familia y amistades en el Hospital de “St. Francis Hospital Compassionate Care.” Pedro (Peyo) nació el 21 de diciembre de 1942 en Naguabo, Puerto Rico. Él era el hijo de Martin Méndez y Eustacia Ramírez. Precedió en muerte sus padres Martin Méndez, Eustacia Ramírez y hermanos Agapito Ojeda, Celina Ojeda, Gloria Ojeda e Irma González. Peyo es sobrevivido por su hijo, Pedro Méndez, Jr. y sus hermanos, José, Ojeda, Juanita Ojeda y Josefina Alverio. Le sobreviven también sus sobrinos, sobrinas y por sus gran sobrinos y sobrinas. Peyo fue empleado por “Wilmington Housing Authority por treinta y dos años. Fue un fiel feligrés de Iglesia Católica de San Pablo donde fue miembro del coro de la iglesia y era activo en el Movimiento de Cursillos. Disfrutaba asistiendo a las reuniones de círculo de oración auspiciado por Grupo Carismático de San Pablo. Peyo era siempre dispuesto en ayudar a su iglesia y personas que necesitaban. Fue cariñoso y amable con su familia y amistades porque era genuino. El disfrutaba de la vida y fue un hombre contento. Amaba a su hijo Pedro, Jr.-- eran mejores amigos, y los dos ¡adoraban uno al otro!
