Robert J. Leuze Sr.

Robert J. Leuze, age 63, went home to be with our Lord on December 12th in his sleep. Bob was born in 1961, to Raymond and Janice Leuze in Wilmington, Delaware. While growing up, Bob was a member of the Boy Scouts, which would eventually lead him to receive the honor of Eagle Scout. He attended Delaware Tech and received an associate’s degree in computer science. He would take that degree and work in IT for many years, finally finding his latest job working for the Department of Education in their IT Department. In his later years, he was a fan of going to Phillies games, watching the Fast and Furious movies, grilling and using his smoker, going to car shows, and enjoying time with his family. Bob was a Minnesota Vikings fan, and often gloried in the days of the notorious “Purple People Eaters.” Bob absolutely loved being around the table during vacation while playing Phase 10 and just laughing in each other’s company. While his son was in high school, Bob coached both the JV and Varsity Team of the Towle Lions in basketball. While coaching, he gained the nickname “Bobby Numbers”, for his knack to have every stat line for every player down the decimal. His most important role was as a believer in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He would share this Good News as a longtime counselor and leader at Camp Sonshine in Honeybrook, Pennsylvania, where he would spend time creating games and activities for the children and other counselors. He was a trustee leader and member of Green Ridge Baptist Church and helped with the sound system. Bob is survived by his wife Sheri, his son Robbie (Laura) (grandson; Noah) and his daughter Madison. He is also survived by his sister, Sandy, and his honorary son, Martin Hollinshead (Leah) (grandchildren; Jonah, Judah, and Julia). He will be missed by many, including brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Janice and Ray, and his brother-in-law, Butch. A visitation will be held on December 20th between 10am and 11am, followed by a Celebration of Life service at Green Ridge Baptist Church, 1700 Dutton Mill Road, Aston, PA 19014. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Green Ridge Baptist Church at the above address. “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:8
