Rudolph "Chip" Ruffin III

Rudolph “Chip” Ruffin III, age 55, of New Castle, DE went to be with his Creator in Heaven on Tuesday, May 7,2024, at Christiana Care Hospital. Chip was surrounded by family when GOD called him home. Chip was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend who embraced and loved everyone around him with such dignity and respect. Chip over the years had dealt with several medical issues but you would always find a smile on his face when he was in your presence. He graduated from William Penn High School in New Castle, DE and received his associate degree from Delaware Technical Community College for Early Childhood development. Chip also received the distinguished Eagle Scout award from the Boy Scouts which showed his positive character traits and leadership. Over the years Chip worked with his father and as he transitioned his career path he began working as a teacher’s aide. Chip’s passion shined bright as he prepared his various lessons for the kids. His heart was 100% fulfilled, being able to nurture the minds of little kids. Chip enjoyed spending time with family, traveling to Disney World, watching Anime, and playing video games. His world became even better when his first granddaughter came along. He enjoyed every moment he was able to spend with her. Chip is survived by his two daughters, Khadijah Ruffin (Patrick) of Middletown, NY and Jamilah Ruffin of Middletown, NY. He also leaves to cherish his memories one beautiful granddaughter, Jamiya Whitt, who he absolutely adored. He is survived by his father, Rudolph Ruffin Jr of New Castle, DE who spent many years assisting Chip through his health struggles. He is also survived by his sister, Deitra Ruffin of Durham, NC, as well as two nephews, Brian Shirley and Brandon Conquest; and one niece, Brianna Conquest. He leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that will greatly miss him. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Mary Jones Ruffin. A visitation will be held Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 4-5 PM at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 1842 Otts Chapel Rd., Newark, DE 19702 followed by a celebration of Chip’s life at 5 PM.
