Samuel Berman Gallion

Samuel Berman Gallion, age 81, of Wilmington, DE passed away on April 4, 2026. He was born in Chicago, IL to the late Anna (Kaminski) Gallion and Earl Gallion. Sam proudly served in the U.S. Air Force followed by a career as a police officer with the City of Wilmington. After retirement he went on to be a manager at Lowe’s home improvement stores. Sam enjoyed doing activities with his children over the years. He was the Cub Master for Pack 99. He was an assistant baseball and basketball coach for Justin and also assisted coaching Erika’s volleyball team. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed watching the birds. He liked to listen to the Phillies games on the radio and watching the Eagles. Sam enjoyed taking Sunday drives and going to the beach. He had many wonderful memories of going fishing with his children Tanya, Jeff, and Michelle. Sam had a deep love for his Oreo and Chips Ahoy cookies. Above all else, he cherished time spent with his family. Sam was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Sam is survived by his wife, Deborah Childs Gallion; his children: Tanya VanSant (Jules), Jeff Gallion (Sue), Michelle Barnhart (Tom), Erika Scott (Aaron), and Justin Scott; his former wife, Carol Milliken; his grandchildren: Tara Eoppolo, Alexis VanSant, Madison Rash, Hunter Gallion, Noah Gallion, Maverick Barnhart, Remi Barnhart, Josh Barnhart, Miah Brotzman, Ayden Brotzman; and 9 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his sister, Bonita Akrivosoulis. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, April 27, 2026 from 10-11 AM at the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702. A service in celebration of Sam’s life will follow at 11 AM. A committal ceremony with Military Honors will take place at 1 PM at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
