Sandra "Sandy" Davis

Sandy was born in Philadelphia, PA, on May 31, 1958, to Rosetta Hines and Eugene Jackson. Sandy was educated in the Philadelphia school system and graduated from South Philadelphia High School while pursuing her passion and honing her sewing skills at BOK, a Vocational High School where she spent half of her school days attending. There she began to become an amazing seamstress. Sandy started a career working with the clothing manufacturer, Devon Apparel. While working there she started to make clothes for her close friends and family members upon their requests. She made nearly all of her own clothing as well while creating beautiful garments for many others. Sandy began working in the banking industry in the mid-nineties for JP Morgan-Chase, leaving in 2018 and retiring from Corp American in 2019. She married her best friend and love of her life, Dexter Davis, whom she loving called “Deck” on October 6, 1984 in Philadelphia, PA. Sandy was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witness on June 22, 1976. She attended the Schuylkill, Fern Rock & Ridge Congregations in Philadelphia and Christiana Congregation in Bear, Delaware where she enjoyed a full theocratic life which included regularly attending congregation meetings, assemblies, and conventions. She served as a full-time minister from November 1992 to September 1996. Sandy served her God Jehovah faithfully to the end of her life. Although Sandy didn’t have any children, she adored her many nieces, nephews and the children of her many friends. Sandy was generous, hospitable, very easy to love, and had an infectious laugh. She was well known for her broccoli salad, Danish spaghetti, and breakfast casseroles along with many other fine dishes. She enjoyed old TV shows, old movies, old game shows, and old R&B music. Sandy was truly old school. She had a keen eye for home decorating. Sandy was very much loved, respected, appreciated, and will truly be missed by her many friends and family. Sandy was preceded in death by her mother, Rosetta; father, Eugene; sisters, Danielle and Thelma; and brother, Gene. She leaves to cherish her memory husband, Dexter; brothers: Teddy, Derrick, Perry (Olivia), and Vernon (Deanna); sisters: Joanna, Denise (Sonny), and Robin (Charles); aunts: Dolores and Alice; along many nieces and nephews.
