Sherrie L. Franklin

On April 21, 2026, Sherrie Lee Franklin, age 67, surrounded by the love of her family and friends, went home to the Lord. Sherrie was born on August 6, 1958, in Dover, Delaware. Sherries life was very well lived—a life filled with love, laughter, strength, and a lifelong devotion to her faith. Sherrie was the loving mother of Shawnee and Jordan, and a proud and devoted grandmother to Tyron, Darryl, Terrell, and Oliver. Sherrie dedicated 31 years of her life to serving the State of Delaware, where her commitment and dependability left a lasting impression on those she worked with. She later took a leap and started her own business. Throughout both chapters of her working life, she was known for her dedication, strong work ethic, and the care she extended to everyone she served. Sherrie truly loved her family and many friends. She truly had a way of making everyone feel welcome and at ease. She spoke to everyone as if she had known them for many years, leaving them feeling seen and cared for. In her free time, Sherrie enjoyed working on puzzles and was a passionate fan of the Eagles. She loved watching cheesy Hallmark movies, sharing good meals, especially crab, and shopping with her daughter, Jordan. She found joy behind the wheel, always eager to be on the road, whether traveling for hours to reach loved ones or simply enjoying the journey. More than anything, she loved her family. She supported her daughters every step of the way, as well as her grandsons, always showing up with love, encouragement, and steady support. Sherrie was also a devoted member of Word of Life Christian Center, where her faith was an important part of her life. Her church family meant a great deal to her, and she found strength, connection, and purpose in her walk with God. She reflected Christ through the love, kindness, and grace she showed to those around her. Her legacy lives on through the love she poured into her family and through the faith, kindness, and devotion that touched so many lives. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 10:30 to 12 PM at Word of Life Christian Center, 854 Old Baltimore Pike, Newark, DE 19702. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 12:00 PM. Burial will be private.
