Stephen P. Bradley Sr.

Stephen P. Bradley, Sr. (Pops), age 65 of Felton, DE formerly of Wilmington, DE went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 16th, 2013. Loving husband, Dad and Pops, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He attended St. Patrick's Elementary, Brown Vo-Tech and Salesianum High Schools, and Goldey-Beacom College. He worked in executive sales at Simplex Grinnell for 38 years and retired in 2009; he then worked as an electrical associate at Lowes. He served our country in the U.S. Coast Guard and served overseas in Vietnam. He returned from war with a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, Vietnamese Campaign Medal with Device, Combat Action Ribbon, and Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of War Birds Over Delaware, the Academy of Model Aeronautics, Del Vets Post #1, American Legion, Coast Guard Combat Veterans Assn, and Vietnam Veterans of America-Chapter 850. He enjoyed golf and was a member of the Bogey Assn; worked out at Punch Kettle Gym in Dover, coached Naamans Little League, Talleyville Softball, and St. Mary Magdalen CYO Football; he also served in the St. Mary Magdalen Home School Assn. Pops is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Paula M. Bradley; 3 children, Kimberly M. Binder and husband Sham, Stephen P. "Bruz" Bradley, Jr. and wife Carol Short, and Kristen M. Heiser; a sister, Betty Ann Keller; 8 grandchildren, Stephanie, Austin, Savannah, Jakob, Bailey, Rory, Brody and Aubree; also survived by many loving family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Elsie Bradley; 3 brothers, Daniel, Richard and Gerald Bradley and a sister Mary Dorothy Bradley; and grandson Jayden Tanner Wise. As a family, we would like to express our overwhelming gratitude to the staff at the Christiana Hospital for the heartfelt care of Pops and our family. A visitation will be held on Monday, April 22, 2013 in the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark DE 19702 from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 in St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 9 Sharpley Rd., Wilm. DE 19803 at 11:00am. Burial will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2013 in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE at 2pm.
