Theresa Marie Kane

Theresa Marie Kane, age 77, of Bear, DE passed away peacefully on April 16, 2023. She was born in Lancaster, PA to the late Elizabeth and Kenneth Swartz. Terri moved to Delaware from Philadelphia in 1965 and worked in the medical field as an X-ray technician for many years. She was a kind and loving mom and grandmother who was devoted to her family. Terri loved having fun and had a great sense of humor. She was an avid reader and was herself a great storyteller. She enjoyed going to Delaware Park. Terri and her husband, Stephen, enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and the USA. She enjoyed going on cruises with her husband as well as with her dear friends. She also loved her “girls’ trips” to Charleston, SC. Terri and Stephen were part of the Honda Goldwing Motorcycle Club and took many bike journeys with their club friends. She was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. Her greatest joy was time spent with her family and her adored grandchildren. Terri will be deeply missed. Terri is survived by her husband, Stephen H. Kane; her daughter, Rebecca Johnson and her husband Aaron; her son, Kevin J. Cannon and his wife Alyssa; brothers: Stephen Swartz (Gwyneth) and Mark Swartz (Suzie); and five beloved grandchildren: Leah, Carly, Brian, Shane, and Haylie. Terri was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Elizabeth and Dave Hain; her father, Kenneth Swartz; and her nephew, Stephen Swartz. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, from 10-11 AM at the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Road, Newark, DE 19702. A service in celebration of Terri’s life will follow at 11 AM. Burial will be private at a later date. The family wishes to acknowledge the staff at Cadia Silverside and Harbor Chase Wilmington for the excellent care provided to their parents. The family also wants to thank Rebecca’s work family at Alpine and Rafetto Orthodontics for their love and support.
