Theresa Mary Krah

Theresa M. (Kripplebauer) Krah, age 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in Hockessin, DE on Saturday, September 3, 2011. She persevered through ailing health in recent years with remarkable strength. Born in Centralia, PA June 8, 1927, Theresa was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Helen (Burns) Kripplebauer. She graduated from St. Joseph’s High School, Ashland, PA. Theresa moved to Delaware in the early 1960s. She was married to the late Alden L. Krah. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased in death by two brothers, Vincent and Joseph Kripplebauer. A devoted wife and loving mother, Theresa’s greatest joy was her children and grandchildren. She had various jobs but retired from WAWA when she was 75 years old. She loved to cook, bake, and crochet blankets for her grandchildren. Theresa spent her last years traveling around DE, PA, and MD. Theresa is survived by 3 children: Marianne Antonini and husband Rudy, Raymond Krah and wife Carol, and Theresa Dant and husband Dennis who cared for her with dignity and respect to the very end of her life; 5 grandchildren: Rudy Joseph Antonini and wife Jena, Matthew Krah, Lauren Krah, Krista Dant Bryan and husband Berek, and Nathan Dant; 3 sisters: Mary Mazer, Catherine Skocik, and the Rev. Rose Marquardt; and a host of nieces and nephews, especially Patty Thompson with whom she spent much time. Theresa also leaves behind her 3 furry companions: Mackie, Jake, and Chase as her love for them was overwhelming. A visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, September 8, 2011 from 6-8 PM in the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 9, 2011 at 12 Noon in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 47 South Market St., Mount Carmel, PA 17851. Visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the start of Mass. Celebrants of Mass will be Rev. Frank Karawicki and Rev. Andrew Stahmer. Burial will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery, Centralia, PA.
