Alice Marie Tyler

September 14, 1943 - April 4, 2022

Alice Marie Tyler, age 78, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully in her sleep, Monday, April 4, 2022. Alice worked for 42 years as a bus driver, and she won numerous awards including safety awards for her stellar work. She loved cooking a delicious meal, working in her flower garden, looking for a good bargain at yard sales, and listening to old country and classic rock music. Most of all, she was a loving mom and mom-mom who cherished her family. Family BBQs and holiday get-togethers were some of her treasured times where many memories were made. Alice is survived by her children: Jerry Allen (Tammi), Lester Tyler, and Tammy Massetti (Julian); grandchildren: Chrissy (Barry), Chasidy, Megan, Dustin, Danny, and Robert Jr. 3 great-grandchildren; and her 4-legged companion chihuahua, Bambi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daley Allen and Elsie Breeding; and son, Robert Allen Sr. A visitation will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022, from 9-10:30 AM at Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702 followed by a service in celebration of Alice’s life at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Faithful Friends, 12 Germay Dr., Wilmington, DE 19804.
