Caitlyn Margaret Wilson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Caitlyn Margaret Wilson, age 16, of New Castle, DE, passed unexpectedly into eternal rest on Monday, July 11, 2022. Caitlyn was born on June 10, 2006, in Pittsburgh, PA. From the moment she entered this world, her inner joy seemed to shine for all to see and appreciate. Everyone loved her instantaneously. As Caitlyn blossomed from childhood to her teenage years, her electric personality flourished and she shined even brighter. Caitlyn was a Junior at William Penn High School and was a member of the class of 2024. She was a diligent student and planned to pursue a career in Psychology. Caitlyn was also a dedicated athlete, possessing a keen sense for teamwork and sportsmanship. She was a forward/striker for the Colonials on both the Field Hockey and Soccer teams. Caitlyn enjoyed the activities and hobbies of most typical 16-year-old girls ~ hanging out with her friends (Danielle), watching Grey’s Anatomy, crafting, making bracelets, painting, skiing, baking, and, of course, crushing on boys. Most importantly, Caitlyn possessed a deep love for her family. She cherished the time they spent together, especially playing Minecraft with her siblings and always displaying her amazing combination of competitive spirit and sense of humor. She will always be remembered for her infectious smile, deep brown eyes, and caring personality. Although taken from us too soon, Caitlyn’s precious spirit will continue to have a profound and everlasting impact on all who were blessed to have known her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her mourning friends and family, all of whom take solace in the fact that her life was well-lived. Caitlyn is survived by her loving mother, Tracey Paxson (Jonathan); loving father, James “Jaime” Wilson (Andrea); siblings: Alexis, Michael, Jasmine, Nathan, JJ, Kailey, Austin, and Ayden; grandparents: James Shiltz, Paul Imhoff (Karen), Joy & Brad Pastore, Linda Murphy, and Maureen Murphy; best friend Danielle; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Pam Shiltz, Beverly Weaver, and William Murphy. A visitation will be held Monday, July 18, 2022, from 6-9 PM at Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702. Another visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, from 9:30-11 AM followed by a service in celebration of Caitlyn’s life at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park.
