David N. Dike

August 16, 1949 - December 29, 2020

David Ndubueze Dike left this earth on Tuesday, December 29th, 2020 at the age of 71. David worked as a chemical engineer for Dupont for approximately 30 years in Houston, New Jersey, and Delaware. He had a caring heart - and was an active member of both his church and local community groups. He was a terrific Father, Husband, Godfather, Grandfather, Uncle, Brother, Son, Mentor, Partner, and Friend. David now rests in peace with the love of his life, Valerie Dike, who was laid to rest in 2013. David was born in Nigeria and extremely proud of his heritage. He came to the United States in the 1970s to pursue an education and quickly found loving friends and family that embraced him immediately. As he established himself as a successful student and professional in the United States, he stayed committed to helping his family in Nigeria. David will ultimately be remembered for the passion he had for his family, and his successful pursuit of the American Dream. David is survived by his son, Chima Dike and wife Susie; daughters, Lauren and Lindsay Dike; his grandchildren, Mena and Allyn; his brothers: Ralph, Kevin, Eze, Timothy, Luke, and Emeka; and his sisters: Elizabeth, Lorita, and Ngozi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Justin and Beatrice Dike; and his sister, Pauline. Per COVID protocol, a private burial service was held on January 5th, 2021 at All Saints Cemetery in Wilmington, Delaware. Contributions in memory of David may be directed to the Knights of Columbus (www.kofc.org/secure/en/donate/index.html), where David was a committed volunteer for much of his life. He was a terrific Father. The Best.
