Dolores Mae Long, age 84, of Newark, DE, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family, Tuesday, January 4, 2022. Dolores retired from MBNA after many years of dedicated service. She was a loving mom and mommom who cherished family time – especially Sunday dinners and Christmas. Dolores was an excellent cook. She enjoyed listening to Elvis and had the opportunity to visit Graceland. Dolores had many hobbies which included: doing ceramics, working crossword puzzles, and watching soap operas. She enjoyed traveling, camping, and going on cruises. Dolores was a great friend to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Dolores is survived by her children: Dell Marshall (Norm), Steve Long (Meg), Mike Long, and Frank Long (Maria); sister, Olivia Klein (Pete); sister-in-law, Mary Cannon; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; a close friend of the family, Kim Long; and pet Lhasa apso, Spunky. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Long; parents, Irving and Alice Cannon; sister, Alice Long (Richard); and brother, Irving Cannon Jr. A visitation will be held Tuesday, January 11, 2022, from 10-11 AM at Love of Christ Church, 2157 Bear Corbitt Rd, Bear, DE 19701 followed by a service in celebration of Dolores’s life at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 921 Reads Way Ste. 205, New Castle, DE 19720.
