Esteban Chamorro, age 84, of New Castle, DE, was called home to be with the Lord Monday, February 7, 2022. Esteban treasured his family and always looked forward to being together. He enjoyed celebrating the holidays surrounded by his loved ones. Esteban was extremely passionate about music, especially Jazz and Salsa. He loved dancing and telling stories. He was an avid reader and a big sports fan of boxing, football and baseball. Esteban was a father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather - and to many a friend. He will be dearly missed. Esteban is survived by his children: Audaz Mercado, Sonia Mercado, Armando Mercado, Sam Chamorro, Geraldine Mercado, Cassandra Guerrero (Benjamin), and Gerson Chamorro; sister, Juanita Chamorro; nephew he raised, Eugenio Ruiz; 24 grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Regino and Susana Chamorro; and siblings: Dario Chamorro, Santa Chamorro, Lola Chamorro, and Thomas Chamorro. A visitation will be held Friday, February 18, 2022, from 9:30-11 AM at Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702 followed by a service in celebration of Esteban’s life at 11 AM.
