Florence Squibb Hill

Florence Squibb Hill, age 95, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. The daughter of the late Lewis and Carrie (Boyd) Squibb, she was born in Wilmington, DE and grew up in the Stanton, DE area. Florence graduated from Conrad High School where she sang in the chorus and discovered her artistic talent. After high school, she was employed by Continental American Insurance Company. A coworker introduced her to her brother, Harold, who later became her husband. They were married on September 22, 1951, and had 2 children. Florence returned to the workforce as a photographic colorist for Davis Studios after her children were grown. Florence enjoyed reading, traveling with her husband, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She also enjoyed family get togethers and had fond memories of summer vacations at Wildwood, NJ with her parents and cousins. Florence’s husband, Harold, preceded her in death in 2006 after 55 years of marriage. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Hill (Rick); son, Dale Hill (Sheila); and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends who will cherish her memory.
