Jacalyn "Jackie" Ann Dougherty

Jacalyn Ann Dougherty (Jackie) passed away on January 13th, 2021, surrounded by her son and grandson. Jackie graduated Claymont High School in 1967 at the age of 17. An exceptionally strong and determined woman, Jackie demonstrated her versatile set of skills and abilities by holding a number of positions in diverse areas of industry which included The Bell Telephone company, as well as owning and operating a restaurant, catering services, and several lunch trucks. She maintained her career at Cellular One until falling ill and becoming a lung transplant recipient. From that point on, every day for the next 18 years was a gift to Jackie, who believed she was given a second chance at life from Dr. Christie and the rest of the transplant team at the University of Penn. Jackie is predeceased by her mother, Edith White; father, Harold White; sister, Jill Campbell; husband, Roger Dougherty; son, James Kevin Dougherty; and nephew, Brian Campbell. She is survived by her son, Kelly Dougherty; grandson, Brandon Dougherty; sister-in-law, Virginia Dougherty; brother-in-law, William Campbell; as well as many nieces and nephews whom Jackie loved dearly.
