James Leroy Cowan, age 83, of Newark, DE, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021. James proudly served in the US Army. He later retired from Chrysler after 35 years of dedicated service. James also worked at Happy Lawn Care. He loved to camp and travel (he actually visited 48 of the 50 United States.) James was a big fan of the Phillies, Penn State Football, and the Green Bay Packers. James is survived by his sons, Michael Cowan (Mary Ann) and Charles Cowan (Denise); daughter-in-law, Linda Cowan; and siblings, Myron Cowan and Raymond Cowan (Iva). He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Ruth Swan Cowan; son, James Cowan; parents, Robert and Margaret Cowan; siblings: Viola Danko, Mary Jane Koontz, Debra Cowan, and Ruth Smith; and sister-in-law, Fran Cowan. A graveside service will be held Friday, February 12, 2021, at 1 PM at Juniata Memorial Park, 9010 Hwy 522 S, Lewistown, PA 17044.
