James Robert “Jim Bob” Golden, age 74, of Middletown, DE, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, July 21, 2022. Jim Bob retired from Edgemoor DuPont where he was a pipefitter and union president for many years. He was an avid biker and a member of the Christian Motorcycle Assoc. as well as a lifetime member of H.O.G. and ABATE of DE. Jim Bob was also the former president of the Motorcycle Accident Victims Foundation. Jim Bob was well-know for his amazing BBQ sauce. He worked to help the homeless by having an annual clothing drive which was supported by his neighbors in Crystal Run Farms. Jim Bob also worked to serve those in need through the Paris Foundation. He was a faithful member of Love of Christ Church and the Emmaus Community. Jim Bob is survived by his cherished wife of 47 years, Karen “Ski” Golden; sister, Renna Schmidt (Ron Sr.); brother-in-law, George Morgan; nephews: Ron Schmidt Jr. (Dianne), Richard Schmidt (Donna), and Russell Schmidt (Chrissy); dear friend, Esther Dill and her daughter, Jaime: and numerous great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Loretta Golden; sister, Shirley Yeatman; and brother, Martin Golden. A visitation will be held Saturday, July 30, 2022, from 10:30 AM – 12 Noon at Love of Christ Church, 2157 Bear Corbitt Rd, Bear, DE 19701 followed by a service in celebration of Jim Bob’s life at 12 Noon. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Jim Bob’s memory to Christian Motorcycle Assoc., PO Box 9, Hatfield AR 71945.
