Kristen King-Dennis Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

On the morning of July 30, 2022, Kristen passed away peacefully surrounded by her beloved family after a long battle with Breast Cancer. She was a lifelong resident of Newark, Delaware. She was a teacher at Christina School district. Kristen graduated from Christiana High School and furthered her education to pursue her lifelong goal of becoming a Special Education Teacher at Delaware Technical Community College and received her Master’s Degree in Education at Wilmington University in 2022. In her childhood, Kristen enjoyed competitive cheerleading, and the company of her many friends from her neighborhood, school, and sports. In her adult life she enjoyed being a mother to her two children, traveling, playing darts, spending her weekends on her boat on the Bohemia River and enjoying a full social life with her many friends. Kristen was a huge advocate for reading literacy and had a large collection of books she loved. She was not only a teacher in her professional life but also a teacher to anyone in her life that needed help. Kristen was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt & friend. As a daughter Kristen made her parents very proud with all of her accomplishments. She loved her children unconditionally and enjoyed snuggling with them, watching movies, traveling and watching them participate in sports. She was the sister that you go to for anything big or small. She was an aunt to 9 nieces and nephews which she loved to pieces. She is survived by her two children, Justin Jr. and Taylor; former husband, Justin Dennis Sr.; mother and father, William King Sr. and Barbara (Blessing) King; brother, William King Jr. (Kimberly); sisters, Lauren Warner (Michael) and Brittany Mead (Jonathon Sr.); grandmother, Blanche (King) Kunkel; Her lifelong best friends, Amy (Larson) Cheiffi and Jennifer Murray; nieces and nephews: Billy, Jesslynn, Braelynn, Emma, Brielle, Brynleigh, Jonathon Jr., Jameson, and Rosalie; and numerous aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gerard Blessing and Claire (Regan) Blessing. Visitation will be held Sunday August 7, 2022, from 11 AM-1PM at Strano-Feeley Funeral Home at 635 Churchmans Road, Newark, DE 19702 followed by a service in celebration of Kristen’s life at 1 PM.
