Loretta J. Cogdell Reynolds Aveyard of Bear, DE, passed away peacefully in Christiana Hospital on December 19, 2021, at the age of 84. Loretta was born in Wilmington and grew up in Claymont, graduating from Claymont High School in 1954. After high school, she worked for Diamond State Telephone until she met and married her first husband, Frank Nadeau. Loretta lived for several years in Michigan before returning to Delaware and also living in Glen Mills, PA. In later years she moved to the Millsboro area and became a pharmacy tech. She enjoyed watching the Phillies and Eagles. Loretta was an avid reader and card player and she will be remembered as a great cook and generous friend. Loretta was predeceased by her parents, Mildred (Dunn) and Delbert Cogdell; her brother, Dennis Cogdell; a daughter, Phyllis Ann Nadeau; her second husband, Tom Hyatt; and her third husband, Al Reynolds. She is survived by three children: Michael (Sandra) Nadeau of Whitmore Lake, MI; Jean (Scott) Polsen of Landenberg, PA; and Katherine (David) Skinner of Bear, DE. Due to the resurgence of COVID-19, services and burial will be private. Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital which was her favorite charity.
