Maria Baker, age 85, of New Castle, DE, passed away on March 9, 2022. She was born in Ziebetschlag/Sudetenland, (Czech Republic), to the late Johann & Katharina Proksch. Maria moved from West Germany to the U.S. in 1964 and became a U.S. citizen in 1972. After retiring from B.F. Rich Window Co., Maria loved to spend time with her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Robert G. Baker; son, Robert J. Baker (Renee); daughters, Belinda Truax and Diana Kaminski; 5 grandchildren: Geno, Jenna, Kayla, Anthony, and Nichole; and 5 great-grandchildren. Maria was very fortunate to have remained especially close to her 2 beloved sisters, Katharina Akins and Gertrude Antonio both of New Castle County. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, from 10-11 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima, 801 N. DuPont Hwy, New Castle, DE. Mass will immediately follow.
