Maxine F. Woodward

November 20, 1939 - February 4, 2022

Maxine F. Woodward, 82, of Bear, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on February 4, 2022. Maxine loved life. She was an avid reader, well-traveled, a lover of music, concerts and shows. Her favorite day of the week was Wednesday, when she would host her weekly canasta night with her beloved son, brothers, and sisters. She was the canasta queen. Her biggest joy and greatest passion in life was her family. She left a huge impact on everyone that met her, with her sparkling blue eyes, her laughter, but most of all her huge compassionate heart. She will be dearly missed, but never forgotten by everyone who was blessed to have had her in their life, most of all by her family. She is survived by her children: Robert M. Woodward, Jr. of Bear with whom she lived, Sharon (Edward) Klowoski of Millsboro, and Eric (Suzanne) Woodward of Cochranville, PA; grandchildren: Gabrielle, Robert, III and Molly Jean Woodward; great grandchildren: Hannah, Hailey, Taso, Zoe and Penelope; brothers: Vernon (Janet) Carter and Lewis Carter; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M Woodward, Sr., granddaughter, Elissa Woodward, great granddaughter, Katelyn Woodward, her parents, Cliate and Willie Lee Carter and siblings, Nell Masters, Bobby Joyce Neal, Ed Neal, Randall and Richard Carter. A graveside service will be held on March 1, 2022 at 2 PM at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE.
