MiRae Macey, age 82, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Merritt Island, FL, passed away peacefully Monday, January 17, 2022, where she lived with her nephew, Billy, and his wife Cathy. MiRae was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Macey and nephew, Billy. MiRae was born in Korea and met her husband, John, while she worked at the PX where John was stationed while serving in the US Air Force. They married in Korea before moving back to the US where she traveled around with John until he retired. MiRae was proud to be a US citizen. MiRae and John settled in Merritt Island, FL, where she was a homemaker and enjoyed working out at the local gym, playing bingo with her friends, and spending time with her nephew, Billy, who attended college there. MiRae also spent time in NJ visiting her husband’s family over the years until his passing in 2016. MiRae will be missed by all who grew to know her spunky and funny disposition – especially Cathy and Billy’s dog, Rufus, who MiRae called Cutie Pie. MiRae’s company was enjoyed by those she lived with, and they were blessed to have her in their lives. Special thanks to the Lorelton, Compassionate Care, and Rohani Home care for all their dedicated help with MiRae. Services and burial will be private.
