Ralph Rivera

April 18, 1958 - January 30, 2022

Ralph Rivera, age 63 of New Castle, DE, formerly of Camden, NJ, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 30, 2022. Ralph was an amazing husband, dad, pop pop, uncle, cousin and friend. He loved his kids, and especially loved his grandkids even more. His family was his whole world. He loved waking up early with his girls and packing up the car and going crabbing and fishing for the day. He loved to be festive and decorate for the holidays, always making sure Christmas was a special and memorable experience every year for his girls. He loved having family get togethers. He was most proud of his DVD collection, with his old westerns and action movies. He also loved collecting sports memorabilia and watching football, playing his football pools and always rooting for whatever team was winning. We will cherish every memory we have with him, in our hearts forever. Dad, we can still hear you say “say goodnight girls” and no matter if we were 5 or 39, you would always tell us to be good and be careful, and we will. You will be dearly missed. Ralph is preceded in death by his wife, Susan Lapp: survived by his daughters: Gina Lapp (Vernice), Leah Lapp (George), Jennifer Jones (John): grandkids: Vernice, Jocelyn, Jayden, Mya, John III, Jemma and Jacob: siblings: Doris Cruz (Serapio), Luz Gonzalez, Judy Rivera, Denny Rivera (Evelyn), Valentino Rivera Jr., Jose Rivera (Maria): sisters-in-law: Sherry Smith (Jack), Linda Nickerson (Neil): brother-in-law: David Dorr and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Valentino and Georgina Rivera: mother-in-law, Helen Lapp: brother-in-law: George Lapp: sister-in-law: Virginia Dorr. Service will be held privately.
