Roger Richard Yeager Jr.

April 3, 1975 - April 6, 2022

Roger Richard Yeager, Jr., age 47, of New Castle, DE, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2022. Roger was always unapologetically himself. He was a daredevil and was always up for the next risk-taking activity. As someone with a great sense of humor, he was known for having the best (and the worst!) jokes and stories. Roger had worked in the construction business for a long time as a steelworker and roofer. He was a diehard football fan. In his younger days, he also enjoyed skiing and snowboarding and was always up for a good old-fashioned pickup football game. Roger was a poker fan and loved Texas Hold’em tournaments. He loved traveling to visit long-time friends. Most of all, Roger cherished his family and would randomly stop by to visit the kids. He loved watching horror movies and visiting horror attractions with his daughters. He was always the favorite uncle and was loved as “crazy Uncle Roddy”. Roger will live on in the lives of those who loved him. Roger is survived by his children: Xavia Boyd, Kerah Lynn Yeager, and Roger “Roddy” Yeager III; parents, Roger Sr. and Gretchen Yeager; grandchildren, Khloe Boyd and Khalani Boyd; siblings, Christina McAnally & husband, Kierin and Troy Yeager & wife, Emma; nieces and nephews: Ryan McAnally, Liam McAnally, Jacob Yeager, Gabriel Yeager, Piper McAnally, Olivia Yeager, and Samuel Yeager; 14 aunts and uncles; 37 cousins; and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Helen Yeager; maternal grandparents, Robert and Elizabeth Loeffel; uncle, Doug Yeager; aunt, Peggy Doherty; and cousin, Richie Domyan. A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 13, 2022, from 10-11 AM at Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702 followed by a service in celebration of Roger’s life at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park.
