Sherri D. Carbone

Sherri D. Carbone, 64, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully to be with the lord on Monday, January 24, 2022. Sherri was born in Wilmington, DE, and retired as an insurance agent at her family-owned and operated business, Drass Insurance Agency in Newport, Delaware. Sherri aka “Nannie” is the daughter of Martha L. Drass and Louis M. Leoni, Sr. and devoted her life to her daughters, Rochelle D. Shaw, Martha L. Shaw, and Ellen M. Shaw and her grandchildren, Christopher, Autumn, Justus, Hannah, R.J., Jayden, Madison, and Kaylee. She is survived by her siblings, Michell Gallagher, Laurie Dunfee, Louis Leoni, Jr., and Robert Leoni along with several nieces and nephews. Sherri was preceded in death by the love of her life, Anthony F. Carbone, Jr. to whom she was married for over 27 years, her beloved daughter, Rochelle whom she held a special place in her heart and prayed for daily, and her benevolent mother-in-law and father-in-law, Rose and Anthony Carbone. In addition to her devotion to her family, her selfless soul made an everlasting impression in the hearts of everyone around her. We invite family and friends to attend her viewing on February 17, 2022, from 9:30 am-11:00 am followed by a service for the celebration of Sherri’s life from 11:00 am-12:00 pm at the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Road, Newark, DE 19702. Burial will follow at 1:00 pm at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701.
