Susan Elizabeth Hopkins, “Sue,” age 71, of Bear, DE, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. Sue was born in Wilmington, DE, on September 11, 1950, the middle daughter of Vaughn S. and Mary E. (Wallace) Hopkins. Sue was a proud graduate of Conrad High School, Class of 1968, and Goldey-Beacom College. She was an administrative assistant to several major companies in Delaware and Maryland over her long career. She enjoyed training dogs, bowling, shooting pool, playing cards, and Disney World. Sue had a larger-than-life personality, an infectious laugh, and a truly kind heart. Her family and friends meant everything to her. Left to mourn her passage is the joy of her life, her daughter, TerryAnn Scott (Chris Dordell) of Wilmington; her grandchildren, Jessica Lee and Katie Scott-Kist; her step-grandson, Allen Dordell; her sisters, Donna Reiter (Greg), Robin Russell (Stephen), and Karen Howard; nieces & nephews, Doug Kane(Starr), Jason Reiter, Kyle Reiter(Christie), Josh Kane, Sean Kane, Bryce Reiter, Graylee Reiter, Jaiden Colbourne-Castellanos, Elizabeth Russell, Matt Russell (Katelyn), Lindsey Kiel(Matt), Bethany Kiel, and Sarah Howard; her cousin, traveling companion, and BFF, Fran Miller; her beloved German Shepherd, Willow; and a host of cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Hopkins Quinn, and her nephew, Greg Kane. A private committal service will take place in June.
