Thomas E. Logullo Sr.

Thomas E. Logullo, Sr., age 92, of Newark, DE, 92 years old died suddenly after a short illness on January 9, 2023, at the Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware. The family would like to thank all the nurses and hospital staff for their kindness during this most difficult time. Tom was born to the late James, Sr. and Anne Ludlam Logullo and grew up in Richardson Park, Wilmington, DE. He played football and ran track during his school years at Conrad High School. He always joked that his best subjects in school were gym and art. Tom was a member of Richardson Park Methodist Church and more recently attended St. Marks Methodist in Stanton. Tom was a Delaware State policeman for 20 years retiring as a captain in 1976. He stayed busy during his 40 plus years of retirement with hobbies of golfing, bowling and traveling. Having an artistic ability, Tom designed front license plates (vanity tags) for individuals, fire stations, etc. on his silk-screening machine out of his garage. He took to carving and painting ducks and birds and entered some local contests. He attended “duck school” each Monday for decades. Tom enjoyed sharing his artistic talent with his family and friends and most times gave his masterpieces away. Tom was carving up to the day he entered the hospital. Tom always had a full social calendar; meeting with friends for breakfast each morning, watching his grandkids’ sporting events, attending musicals, playing the slots and watching the horses run with his buddies. He always enjoyed a good meal out with family and friends. Tom welcomed everyone he met into his life! Tom was predeceased by his wife, Elma F. Brittingham Logullo; daughter, Patti Sue Logullo; and siblings: Florence M. Logullo Grier, James V. Logullo Jr. and Patricia A. Logullo Bryant, and his half-brother and sister, James Jr. and Nellie Logullo Episcopo. Tom is survived by his daughter, Dawn Davis; two sons, Thomas Logullo, Jr. (Deb) and Andrew Logullo (Claudia); grandchildren: Adam Ward Jr. (Devon), Matthew Logullo (Victoria), Meghan Godwin (Michael), Tyler Ward, Tessa, Ashley, Emma and Alexandria Logullo; 5 great-grandchildren: Brynlee, Evelyn, Olivia, Eli and Owen; two brothers, Robert Logullo (Delores) and William Logullo; and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Thursday, January 19, 2023, from 10-11 AM at Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702 followed by a service in celebration of Tom’s life at 11 AM. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
