Zhen Gu

January 19, 1949 - January 23, 2022

Zhen Gu passed away peacefully on January 23rd, 2022 (December 21st, 2021 in lunar calendar) in Christiana Hospital. Born in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province, China on January 19th, 1949 (December 21st, 1948 in lunar calendar), he was a son of Silun Gu and Huiru Dai of China. Zhen is survived by his wife of 44 years Furong Li, daughter Huaiying Gu, his mother Huiru Dai, all of his siblings: Ming Gu, Heng Gu, Jin Gu, and Zhong Gu. He leaves behind his two grandchildren：Emma Zhexi Li (11) and Daniel Zhexuan Li (6). He will also be greatly missed by many brother- and sister- in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Zhen started his career as a worker of CCCC-TIANJIN DREDGING CO., LTD. in 1969. He endeavored to improve himself and served the company with his greatest enthusiasm and effort. His works were very well recognized by the company and all levels of governments. He was promoted as the Vise President and CFO of the company and retired from this position in 2013. Zhen loved his family and was always looking for ways to help all family members. He took good care of his mother and provided solid support to his younger siblings after his father passed away. He loved his wife, daughter, and grandchildren. He always did all housework duties before anyone can start. For his grandchildren Emma and Daniel, he cherished every moment with them and carefully documented and preserved all the works done by them. Zhen was an active, optimistic, and wise man with variety of interests and hobbies. He liked reading, writing, traveling, photography, gardening, cooking, and learning new-tech/app in smartphone and computer. A visitation will be held Thursday, January 27, 2022, from 5 PM – 6:30 PM at Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702 followed by a service in celebration of Zhen’s life at 6:30 PM. Burial will be private. 讣闻 先父顾镇先生，因突发脑溢血，经多方医治无效，于主后2022年1月23日下午1：59分（农历2021年12月21日）在美国达拉华州纽瓦克市的Christiana医院逝世，终年73岁。先父是主后1949年1月19日 （农历1948年12月21日）在中国江苏省镇江市出生。他在主后2013年芝加哥福音大会中决志信主并重生得救。如今，我父蒙 主恩召，息了他世上的劳累，回到天上父神的怀抱。 我父一生七十三年的岁月给他身边的亲人朋友留下了极美好的回忆和树立了很好的榜样，他为人正直，善良，勤劳，节俭，敦亲睦族，爱老扶幼。我非常庆幸成为他的女儿，几十年来他千辛万苦，养育我长大成人，将父神伟大的爱通过他释放在我身上。 我父于1969年在天津航道局开始工作。他从一个基层工人开始，靠着自己的不断奋斗努力取得了单位的总会计师，总统计师， 总经济师，并在副局长（副厅级）的岗位上出色地工作多年直至退休。他的工作赢得了单位内外的高度赞扬并曾多次获得部，省，市级的荣誉。 我父一生为家族鞠躬尽瘁，任劳任怨。为人子，他孝敬双亲，竭心尽力侍奉老母；为人夫，他忠诚如一，与母亲心心相印相濡以沫44年；为人父，他慈爱宽柔，数十载含辛茹苦为我遮风挡雨；为人兄，他义薄云天，长兄如父般地看顾弟弟妹妹。我父为人正直开朗，积极向上，活泼有趣。他兴趣广泛，喜爱写作，旅游，摄影，阅读，快速接受新鲜事物，有极强的动手能力。我为失去这样一位慈父感到锥心之痛。愿我父在我主怀中得安息，再无病痛，永享福乐。 先父的遗体告别仪式定于2022年1月27日(星期四)下午5:00–6:30在 Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home （635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702）举行。先父的追思暨生命庆典定于2022年1月27日(星期四) 下午6:30–7:30在Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home举行。
