Austin Brittingham

Austin Brittingham sadly left us tragically to join the heavens above with his mom-mom on Sunday, June 2, 2024. Austin was born July 6, 2002, in Newark, DE. He graduated from William Penn High school class of 2021. He had an aurora about him that was captivating. He formed so many friendships and bonds. Austin enjoyed working at Bay Country Landscaping. His hard work ethic showed and was recognized, which landed him a foreman position. He had big dreams and aspirations for his future. As strong-willed as he was, he would’ve accomplished all he wanted to do. Austin exhibited a thirst for life. At an early age he learned how to fish and hunt with his dad, which became one of his favorite things to do. It was hard to catch Austin just sitting around. He was always hanging out with friends and family, going places and trying new things. One thing he loved to do was ride his motorcycle. He loved dogs and had a special indescribable connection with his sister’s dog Imani. Most importantly he loved spending time with his family and friends. Austin had the perfect smile that would light up the darkest rooms. You could feel the love radiating from that beautiful smile. There are not enough words to describe Austin. He was kindhearted, ambitious, genuine, strong, hardworking, determined, humble, and most importantly, had a LOVING heart! Austin was preceded in death by his mom-mom, Barbara Ricker; and grandfather, Harry Claire. He is survived by his mother, Kimberly Ann Brittingham; father, Michael Joseph Claire; sisters, Tiffany Citino and Ashley Trala; nephews, Dominic Citino and Ryder Elliott; niece, Emma Citino; pop pop, Kenneth Ricker, mom mom, Dawn Claire; aunts and uncles: Shelly Perry (Edward), Robin Scheid (Russell), Thomas Brittingham, and Jimmy Claire. He also leaves behind numerous cousins: Daniel Ginevan, Thomas Brittingham Jr, Amanda Kitner, Levi Scheid, Nolen Scheid, and Elliana Brittingham; his second father, Andrew Trala, as well as, his 4-legged furry sister, Imani; and an out pouring number of friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing from 10 AM-12 PM on Friday June 14, 2024, at Strano Feeley Funeral Home 635 Churchman’s Road Newark, DE followed by a service in celebration of Austin’s life at 12 PM.
