Bruce Vincent Minner

Bruce V. Minner, age 55, of Newark, DE passed away at Christiana Hospital on Monday, November 24, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. His loss is truly devastating to all who knew and loved him. He was born in Wilmington, DE to Bruce C. and Carole (Butler) Minner. He attended Red Lion Christian Academy and Delcastle Technical High School. He was a graduate of Wilmington University with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources. Bruce dedicated 36 years of service to the Delaware Air National Guard, where he earned countless awards and achievements, ultimately attaining the distinguished rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He was deeply respected by his peers for his leadership, integrity, and unwavering commitment. Bruce was a loyal friend, loved by everyone who knew him. He was a straight shooter, honest, dependable, and always true to his word. Many of his closest friendships began in childhood and lasted a lifetime, a testament to the kind of man he was. Above all, his greatest love in life was his family. He was a devoted husband and the most loving father to his son Beau and his daughter Lola. His devotion to them was evident in everything he did. Bruce found great joy in the places he cherished. He loved spending time in Grand Lake Stream, Maine. A place that always brought him peace and more recently at his beach house in Ocean View, DE where he created many treasured memories with his family. Bruce was happiest outdoors-fishing, hunting, and enjoying nature. He also spent many years playing softball, a sport he truly loved. He played on several recreational softball teams as well as the Delaware Air National Guard team where they played tournaments all over the country. Bruce is survived by his wife, Doreen Ruzchak Minner; his son, Beau; and daughter, Lola Minner. Bruce is also survived by his mother, Carole Minner; his sister, Dawn Dooley: nephew; Brandon Dooley (Taylor); and niece, Brooke Dooley. He had a special bond with his great nephews, Kaine and Malakai Dooley and great niece, Sloane Dooley. He is also survived by many cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Bruce C. Minner. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, December 9th, 2025 from 9 AM to 12 PM at Bible Fellowship Church of Newark, 808 Old Baltimore Pike. A service will follow at 12 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Farmhouse, 5600 Old Capitol Trail, Wilmington, DE 19808 following the service. Interment will be at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd, Bear, DE 19701 on December 10th at 2pm. Throughout his service in the Delaware Air National Guard, Chief Minner was always the first to step forward when an Airman needed support. His compassion, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to others defined his time in the Delaware Air National Guard.
