Catheya "Cathy" Williams-Hannas

Catheya "Cathy" Williams-Hannas age 59 went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Sept 6, 2022. She was born in Wilmington, DE on October 30, 1962 to Charles "Howard" and Catherine "Cathy" Williams and raised by her beloved granny Lillian May Brunini. Cathy spent her early life with her loving Granny and Pop Bruno in Marshallton, DE where she enjoyed playing with Granny in her yard full of animals and going with Pop Bruno to his auto shop. She spent her summers with her dad vacationing in Hacks Point, MD riding motorcycles, crabbing, and fishing with her brothers. In her teenage years she loved music and listening to her many records. Cathy especially loved the Bay City Rollers. She in fact loved them so much she dressed her little sister Pam up like them and sent off her picture to them asking if she could be their mascot. In 1979 Cathy married her high school sweetheart, Robin "Rob" Hannas. They lived in Delaware City, DE for many years where they raised their 3 beloved daughters. While living in Delaware City she became like a second mom to many and everyone's Aunt Cag/Cat. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and granddaughter all while caring for her Granny until her death. In addition to caring for her family Cathy enjoyed designing jewelry, crocheting, and creating decorative home items. She was also the family hair stylist. Cathy spent her career in transportation. She mainly drove a school bus for Colonial school district where many students claimed she was their favorite bus driver. Cathy cherished her children and grandchildren with everything in her. She played a huge part in the upbringing of each one of her grandbabies; she raised her twin grandsons who were born very premature. They all brought her such great joy. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bruno and Lillian May Brunini; parents, Howard and Cathy Williams; brothers, Bucky and Cliff Williams; niece, Rebecca "Becky" Williams-Munch; and her son-in-law, Theron "Joey" Arrowood. Cathy is survived by her husband, Rob Hannas; daughters: Lora, Linda, and Lisa Hannas; grandchildren: Harold "Butch", Dylan, Dalton, and Calvin Lewis. Theron "Tj" and Lilyanna "Lily" Arrowood. Tommy Coleman IV; brothers, Gene Spurlin, and Arlington "Jeff" (Susan E.) Bell; sister, Pamela "Pam" (Charlie) Stroman-Howerton; her many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and all of her "bonus" kids and grandkids. A visitation will be held Friday, September 16, 2022, from 5:30-7 PM at Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702 followed by a service in celebration of Cathy’s life at 7 PM. Another service in celebration of Cathy's life will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 12 PM at Christ the Cornerstone, 3135 Summit Bridge Rd, Bear, DE 19701. Burial will be private.
