Charles "Chuck" Morris

Charles E. Morris, lovingly known as "Chuck" by family and friends, entered this life on December 30, 1958, and departed, quiet and peacefully at home, on April 24, 2025, with his wife, Christine (Browan) Morris, lovingly by his side. Chuck and Christine joined in holy matrimony on June 19, 1987. They were more than husband and wife; they were best friends. They not only shared common interests but embraced whatever made the other happy. Where you saw one, the other was not far behind. They cared for each other endearingly and this was reflected most in her care for him until his final breath. From this loving union came two sons, Kyle (1987) and Brandon (1994). A true family man and father, Chuck was known for his commitment and dedication to his sons, putting together Legos, (a tradition his mother started with him); racing RC cars with Kyle; taking them to antique car shows all over the East Coast as well as annual family camping trips. In his later years, Chuck’s pride and joy was restoring his 1966 Comet Cyclone GT 390. He had owned a similar model at age 16 and was overjoyed to find one 40 years later and began restoring it to its original state. When Kyle and Brandon started to outgrow the traditional outings, Chuck and Christine still had parental love to give. They extended their home and vacations with neighboring children (Frankie, Brittany, Ciera, Mackenzie and Destiny) as well as Brianna. Chuck enjoyed being a fatherly figure to them all. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Pauline Morris (Townsend, DE); his in-laws; brother-in-law, Ted Browan (Bear, DE); and Nick Sterling (Bear, DE) who was raised with Chuck like a brother. Chuck leaves to cherish his memory Christine Browan Morris, his loving and devoted wife of 39 years; his sons, Kyle (Sarah) and Brandon; granddaughter, Helena "Elly" Morris; brothers: George (Beth), Rick (Sheila) and Marty (Cindy) and brother-in-law, Ronnie Browan. Chuck also leaves a number of nieces and nephews to honor his memory as well as lifetime work friends and hunting buddies: John Lloyd, John Dudley, Dave Voyton and Mike Grimes. Chuck will be greatly missed by so many whose lives he touched, neighbors, co-workers, customers and everyone he allowed in his home to share all he had been blessed with. Rest in peace good and faithful servant. You have earned your reward. A visitation will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025, from 9:30-11 AM at Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702 followed by a service in celebration of Chuck’s life at 12 Noon.
