Connie Sue Paynter

Connie Sue (Knight) Paynter, age 58, of New Castle, DE passed away at home on July 29, 2024 after her battle with Lung Cancer. The family is deeply saddened by her death. Born on April 29, 1966 in Logansport, Indiana, Connie was the daughter of Doris (Knight) McDonough. In 1966, Connie relocated to Delaware, where she would ultimately raise her children and settle down. On March 5, 1993 she married her husband of 31 years, Rich Paynter. Together they raised 5 children: David, Felicia, Rick, Jessica and RJ, along with her granddaughter, Destiny, and her 3 cats: Luna, Diamond and Pearl. Connie worked in housekeeping for many years. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with those she loved, camping with her family and friends, as well as going on motorcycle adventures with her husband. Connie will be deeply missed and forever loved. She is survived by her ride or die husband, Richard Paynter; her children: David Kline (Julie) of Newark, and Rick Molina of New Castle; her stepchildren: Jessica Paynter (fiancé Ellis “Michael” Hunt) of Newark, and Richard “RJ” Paynter of Bear; her son-in-law, DJ Carter of New Castle; her mother, Doris McDonough (fiancé Wesley King) of New Castle; her father in-law, Charles Paynter of Felton; her brother Adam Jablonski (Heather); sister-in-law, Linda Kastle (John) of Dover; and her grandchildren: Donald Carter, Jazziah Molina, David Kline, Richard Molina, Angel Carter, Destiny Carter, Milee Hunt, Miles Hunt, and Talia Molina; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, nephews and great nieces and nephews, including her niece Jessica Morley Meekins of Elkton, MD who she loved and was tremendously thankful for especially in her final months. Connie was preceded in death by her daughter Felicia Kline; her siblings: Clyde Owens and Judy Owens; mother-in-law, Marie Paynter; and siblings-in-law Roy Knightly, Marshall Paynter, Dennis Paynter and Sharon Cox-Knightly. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 3-4 PM on Friday, August 9 at Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702. A service in celebration of Connie’s life will follow at 4 PM. A life celebration gathering will be held in Connie’s memory from 6-8pm at the Mill Creek Fire Company, 3808 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808.
