Diana L. Baker, age 73, passed away peacefully at her home in Wilmington, Delaware, on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Though her time with us feels far too short, her life was full of love, laughter, and meaningful connections that will be cherished forever. Diana was born in Pennsylvania to Gerald and Beverly Baker, and from the very beginning, she brought light into the lives of those around her. With a kind spirit and a beautiful, genuine smile, she had a way of making everyone feel welcome and cared for. She grew up alongside her brothers, Carl and Bruce, and later graduated from Conrad High School. After high school, Diana began what would become a remarkable 43-year career at Christiana Care, where she worked as a Patient Access Coordinator. Her dedication and compassion touched the lives of countless patients and coworkers. She took great pride in her work and was known for her reliability, her warmth, and the way she always went the extra mile for others. Outside of work, Diana lived a life full of simple joys. She had a deep love for spending time with friends, sharing meals, going out to lunch, and filling the air with laughter. She especially looked forward to watching holiday shows at the American Music Theatre in Lancaster, and she was an enthusiastic fan of the TV series Yellowstone. She also loved to read and was always up for a good story, just like the one she lived. Diana was a devoted daughter who took on the role of caretaker with grace and strength, lovingly tending to both her mother and father in their later years. Her selflessness and quiet devotion to her family will never be forgotten. After retiring, she embraced life fully, enjoying every moment of her well-earned rest. Whether she was catching up with friends, planning a little outing, or simply enjoying a peaceful afternoon, Diana made the most of her days and found joy in life’s everyday beauty. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Gerald and Beverly, and her brother Bruce Baker. She is survived by her brother Carl Baker, many nieces, along with her dear friends who became like family to her over the years. Their lives are better for having known her, and her memory will live on in their hearts. Diana will be remembered for her laughter, her loyalty, her caring heart, and the gentle way she moved through the world. She gave so much to so many and asked for so little in return. Though she is no longer with us, the love she shared remains, and always will. A graveside service will be held at Silverbrook Cemetery 3300 Lancaster Ave, Wilmington, Delaware 19805, Monday October 27, 2025 at 10am.
