Louise A. Brown

Louise A. Brown, nee Naugle, resident of Milford, Delaware since 1991, formerly of Lodi, NJ, was at home with her daughter when she transitioned to be with our Lord, the morning of July 4, 2024. Louise was born and raised in Fair Lawn, NJ where she attended Fair Lawn High School. After she graduated, she worked at Bergen Community Bank. “Lou” met her husband, “Bob” at a wedding and they married just six months later, at age nineteen. Nearly two years later, Bob returned home from the Navy and they began their family. “Weesie” began working at New Jersey Bell in 1969 in Clifton. When the phone company split, she became an AT&T employee, working for RMATS division in Hackensack. Eventually, she was transferred to Roselle, NJ. She accepted an early retirement from AT&T, instead of moving to an even further location. She achieved her goal for retirement of moving to Delaware, in 1991. They loved their house, yard and the area. Whether you called her Louise, Lulu, Weesie, Aunt Lou or Ma Brown, there’s no doubt you were blessed to experience some of her many talents. She had amazing hands and so many hobbies, which when her talents and creativity were combined with her giving nature, beautiful results were shared with so many. Her talent was expressed in sewing, knitting, crewel, embroidery, crocheting, ceramics, painting pictures, making dolls, and eventually quilts and wall hangings. Louise was very active in church including the women’s association and typing weekly bulletins. She was an amazing cook and baker, best known for her eggplant parm, unrivaled minestrone soup, tassies and cucidatis. Lou thought of everyone as her friend. She loved people; especially babies and toddlers. She had two daughters, but when they were younger, you would never know it; she always had more children with them. She loved her family and friends, and mostly God. Louise was a good Christian woman; always willing to lend a hand. She was a smart and independent woman. She also loved talking; even at the end when we couldn’t understand her, she tried talking. Louise was welcomed to Heaven by the love of her life, her beloved husband, Robert (Bobby) Brown. She was also greeted by her respected parents George and Agnes Naugle; loving daughter Lori Louise Amoruso; dear siblings Roi Naugle (Annette) and Evelyn Meister (Donald); two nephews and a niece. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Sue-Brown Henry, adored grandchildren, Gary Kristopher Henry and Starr Angelica Henry and caring son-in-law, Victor Amoruso. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 11 AM -12 Noon at Strano and Feeley Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd, Newark, DE, followed by a service in celebration of Louise’s life at 12 Noon.
