Margaret L. Stilwell

Margaret (Peggy) Stilwell, age 83, went to be with the Lord on August 31, 2024. A graduate of Henry C. Conrad High School, Class of 1959, Margaret pursued her passion for nursing and graduated from Wilmington General Hospital School of Nursing in 1962. She was a long-time member of Marshallton United Methodist Church in Wilmington, DE, and an active member of Pike Creek Bible Church in Newark, DE. Margaret cherished her friendships and enjoyed staying connected over the years. She loved gatherings, high school reunions, and spending time with friends and family. Known for her kind words and warm smile, Margaret was a significant part of many lives, always eager to share joy with everyone she met. She took great pride in her family and delighted in sharing stories of her grandchildren’s, nieces’, and nephews’ accomplishments. Margaret cherished her time at Woodlea Apartments, where she actively participated in various events and social gatherings. She took great pride in her home and her involvement in the community. Margaret was always eager to help others and advocate for all residents. She loved spending time with friends, playing bingo, and building strong relationships with her neighbors. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Marybeth; son, Jeffrey (Vicie); her grandchildren: Annalise, Jessalyn, Joshua, Brandon, J.T., and Kayle; brother, David, sister-in-law, Ruth; and many nieces, nephews and grand pups. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Elizabeth Ford; brother, Charles; sister-in-law, Susan; and former husband, Donald C. Stilwell Jr. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Pike Creek Bible Church, Marshallton UM Church, or Happy Life Children’s Home, 140 Airport Road, New Castle, DE 19720. The burial will be private. Services will be held at Pike Creek Bible Church, 199 Polly Drummond Hill Rd, Newark, DE 19711, on Saturday, September 21, 2024. A visitation will begin at 11 AM, followed by the service at 12 PM. The family invites everyone to join them for a luncheon at the church following the service at 1 PM.
